“For 40 years, Versace has led the fashion industry and continually reinvented luxury through its unmistakable designs. Today, sustainability is an integral part of our strategic development as we work toward a more responsible and net-positive future for climate, nature, and people. As a company, Versace recognizes its responsibility to contribute positively to the wider ecosystem and society of which we are all a part. Versace is implementing initiatives and projects to bring this vision to life. We will continuously evaluate our progress and objectives to ensure they remain both ambitious and achievable. Together with our affiliate, we are committed to being transparent and accountable throughout this journey".

Holistic diversity
Since its founding in 1978, Versace has been committed to promoting diversity in people, thought, cultures, expression, and experiences, with the aim of being a pioneering luxury Maison. We have decided to broaden our vision by extending this commitment to biodiversity, helping to support and preserve the diversity of all species and people on Earth. As we work toward becoming a more responsible company, with the aim of protecting our planet and the communities that inhabit it, we believe biodiversity is fundamental. As we embark on this new and ambitious journey, we will share our ideas, actions, and milestones.
Our commitment
At Versace, we approach the responsible sourcing of raw materials by choosing those that, for example, help reduce our carbon footprint, minimize water use and waste generation, and support biodiversity. All of this contributes to creating a positive impact on the people who interact with our products. We monitor the selection of materials used in our collections and Atelier to promote continuous improvement in terms of environmental impact, social responsibility, and animal welfare. At Versace, we are committed to increasing the use of responsible materials and processes in our products, and we have defined actions to achieve these objectives. We proactively engage with our supply chains to ensure the implementation of rigorous social, ethical, and environmental standards.
Our definition of responsible sourcing
We prioritize materials and processes that are traceable and supported by third-party certifications that verify their responsible credentials. Our current criteria include materials with the following certifications:
Regeneratively-grown materials:
RegenAgri®
NATIVA™
Organically-produced materials:
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
Organic Content Standard (OCS)
Pre- and post-consumer recycled materials:
Global Recycled Standard (GRS)
Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)
Other responsible sourcing methods:
Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)
Responsible Down Standard (RDS)
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
Leather Working Group (LWG), Silver or Gold tannery certifications
Looking forward
At Versace, we are designing and implementing creative solutions to facilitate the use of traceable, low-impact, responsibly sourced, and recyclable materials, across our products and collections. Through increasing supplier engagement, training, and upskilling internal teams on low-impact, responsible sourcing and design, we are laying the foundation for what’s to come. Our goal is to mainstream these materials within our collections.
Our policies and practices:
We are committed to promoting a positive long-term impact on people, the environment, and the planet.
We have developed a social responsibility program that ensures rigorous standards are defined and maintained throughout our supply chain, while also helping to strengthen measures to safeguard and protect our workers. We regularly monitor suppliers on issues including health, safety, welfare, fair wages, human rights, forced labor, and discrimination.
We are committed to limiting the use of certain high-impact and ethically problematic materials, such as animal fur.
We have developed an Internal Responsible Sourcing Guide for our teams responsible for sourcing, product development, and design, supporting them in making more effective decisions.
Our Sustainability, Communications, and Digital departments work closely together to ensure that accurate information is provided for each product. We have enhanced our communications to promote direct and effective engagement with our stakeholders.
We monitor the percentage of responsibly sourced items in each collection, calculating those that contain more than 50% materials from traceable sources (as defined above), based on weight. This enables us to assess our progress internally and track improvements over time.
We’ve embarked on a journey, and we look forward to sharing our progress with you.
