A love of beauty and glamour, but also a passion for innovation and evolution have inspired the creation of this dress. Long, asymmetric, with a sensual high leg slit – and completely sustainable. For the Met Gala, Versace decided to make a dress that is responsibly made throughout the supply chain to support and encourage what should be crucial behavior within the fashion industry and in the world in general. Worn by Gisele Bündchen, the dress has been created using exclusively responsibly sourced materials. The fabric and lining used are both 100% organic silk which has been ecologically dyed, the threads are 100% organic cotton and everything is certificated as GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard. The embroidery is entirely created with crystals made out of recycled glass bottles from Brazil. The zipper and all the inner materials used for the construction of the dress are made out of organic cotton and recycled plastic. All metal components are lead, nickel, colorants and chemicals free with all certifications provided and have been made under all human criteria previously mentioned. This stunning gold-tone dress has been completely made in the Versace Atelier in Milan, fully respecting the sustainability principles.
